But, I am over it now. I understand the rule and the reason for it. No problems.

First of all, I was a little upset this got disqualified, as I know I just used basic editing, but I received a DQ because I downloaded it with Adobe PS Elements, adding a copyright line in the EXIF in the process. FOr that reason, it was no longer an "original" and had to be tossed by the committee. Oh well...I move on.

In response to the comments below.

1. Silverscreen. This was a single JPG image. I thought you needed at least 3 images to do HDR? I just, flat out, went overboard on the curves and shadows and contrast trying to make it cool. I failed.
2. jblaylockrayner. Noe, I just overdid basic editing. I probably pushed the boundary of it a bit too far, but being a PP noob, I couldn't stop myself.
3. kaarissaa. Thank you for enjoying the picture.
4. annig, um...the backlighting would be the sunlight shining behind the flower. I placed the flower directly over the afternoon sun. BUt, my poor editing probably overshadowed that.
5. Larus, you hit it on the head - I went overboard when I should not have. Thank you for the honest critique.

Not really digging the tones in this image, did you go overboard with shadow/highlights or tone mapping or something similar?

Nice composition but the image is very flat and looks like there may have been more than basic editing here?

HDR is way overdone imo.
