My 7 year old daughter, Caitlin, captured in a studio. I have tried to create the sort of image that makes you feel like you've discovered a lost artifact. Hope you like it, but don't imagine it will score well. I predict 5.50 - 5.75 if I'm lucky!

In Mac Aperture
Converted from RAW

In Photoshop CS
Lots of texture layers, burn, noise, blur, lucisart whyeth filter, melancholytron...
Wings added from photos taken 30 August of a Cicada's wings. Burned on to image having saved them as a brush.

- and here is the one I should have entered!

this is perfect. sorta reminds me of the beginning of the film "Moulin Rouge", that fantasy antique look. Brilliant! and very good choice to use what looks like a high pass filter on her (though I could very easily be wrong). I love it, Fav.

Awesome work Michael!!! FYI, this was my only '10' & obviously my favorite image from the challenge. Her pose is brilliant & your pp was as well :) I was wondering when I'd see another entry from you - are you gearing up for another season of DPL? Keep this up & you'll end in Division A, friend...

I'm so glad to see this do so well! Terrific image, offbeat and appealing in an almost eerie way.

Lovely. Good use of framing texture. I wonder, however, if you're suffering from DPC-offcenter-compositionitis.

Wow, this shot is very cool, oddly it makes me think of SaudekĀ“s work even though it looks completely different. Not quite a 10 from me but I gave the next best thing.

Interesting idea, but would work much better for me if I could really see her eyes.

Intriguing shot.

There is a lot to like about this, and I shall revisit it before I give a final mark :- ) But I do like it.
