Lens: Pentax FA 50mm f/1.4 AF

Date: Aug 24, 2007
Aperture: 2.4

Date Uploaded: Aug 25, 2007

My girlfriend performing with her aerial dance troop. They have one performance a year - just happened to be during this challenge! Shot on full manual with the ever-amazing 50mm f/1.4. Focus is unfortunately not perfect, but this was the most visually interesting shot so I went with it.

There's a video of her performance here.

Crop, USM, curves, neat image, resize.

Great idea for this challenge and technically well done, but not the most dramatic pose.

Elegant. Subject appears slightly OOF to me though. Maybe it is just my eyes after too much voting. Great use of colours and positioning of the main subject in the centre of the shot. 6

I love these acts in Cirque de Soliel (for example). As with some others I'd like to see more than 3 feet below her to show the potentially dangerous situation, and normally they do much more risky moves without hands, upside down that would more show working without a net.

Not bad but I donĀ“t get in what setting this was taken from looking at this picture, think some more of the surroundings would have appealed more to me.

Nice capture - I don't mind the centered composition on this - The colours are nice too. Just let down by it's softness and some rather distracting white thing off to the right.

The light really shows off the texture and form well. Nicely done!

wish she weren't quite so centered in the frame ... maybe crop the left a bit so she is looking more into the image ... nice color saturation

Nice shot. Great color. I like that the subject remains anonymous.

Beautiful colors - the black on either side really make this stand out! Just needs a pinch of sharpening, IMHO
