I really like this and it's a bit of a departure for me as far as processing goes. I NEVER take more than 15 minutes to process an image, I hate sitting in front of the computer tweaking this an that and making things look "better". I try do most of the "work" in camera, composing, exposure, etc.

The only "expert" maneuver I used here was combining two versions of the same raw image for better dynamic range. This was an earlyish evening shot with the sun lowering in the sky just to the right of this shot. It had just rained in the valleys below with many thunderstorms still developing. ..quite a beautiful scene...turbulent skies, lovely evening light, breezy, cool and refreshing. Much better than the stagnant hot air in the valleys below.

INCREDIBLE. The atmosphere is intense and powerful here, and yes, bitter. Pinched almost. I tried to eat an acorn once. Uncooked, they taste awful. It was so bitter it formed a sort of numbing paste over my tongue, making the gravely chips of nut even worse. :) I was reminded of that acorn when I looked at your picture and read the title - only not as wildly awful a feeling. Awesome, awesome image.

This is awesome Rach, a unique and amazing landscape!!! Highly underrated! So is there where you met you're "it's all about the gear" friends?

Well, I enjoyed this one when voting. But came back to learn more. The result (in terms of a nice image - darn the voting..) is worth the effort and time processing. I thought this was a shot of Greece - the recent fires. I like the silver tone look. Nice work.

Interesting tones in this 'scape, they really seem to fit this scene well. Great job!
