 placed an upside-down glass on a sheet of glass and aranged the nails in this pattern. placed a sheet of posterboard about 6 inches underneath the glass and used lighting from the left.

This is really well done. It is simple, has no distracting bright spots, and is clever. I really like the shadow positioning.

Very creative, nicely original, and I'm envious because I don't get ideas like this! Good execution. Would have liked the nails at about the 2 o'clock position a bit better lit, but that's a NIT. Should be a top ten finisher!

I like this idea with the shadow. It fits the challenge well. I'm not sure why it doesn't really hold my interest...although the more I look at it, the more I like it. Maybe if the contrast was a little higher and less gray? Anyway, I do like the composition alot.
