Gave you a 9, and started a comment but never finished it. First, congrats on a worthy ribbon; second, I wanted to say how the blur on the water indicated the motion of time/day closing; third, this looks even better now I notice your excellent vanishing point.

Wow, my first ribbon. Many thanks to everyone:-)

This was a bit of a lucky shot. My wife was going to the dentist one evening, so I decided to take the camera and get a few shots while waiting. I was fortunate that it was such a beautiful evening and happened to be in the right location at the right time, and most importantly - with a camera.

The only editing was a crop and sharpening. I tried tinkering a little but it didn't add anything to the photo, so I decided to go with the original (luckily).

Once again, wow, many thanks.

I think the first time I looked at this shot I may have been suffering from a surfeit of 'close of the day' images in the challenge. Revisiting it fresh I can see far more beauty in it and the cotrast between the midnight blue of the sky, the light from the setting sun and the house lights is great. Bump to 7

Beautiful! Stunning! I don't like the black blob at lower left. Tighter cropping at left and bottom might have made a better pic. Otherwise, great technicals.

Nice shot but I would crop out half the black sky and half of the water. It would bring your coastline to about the bottom third of the image.
