I tried to caputure the abandoness of this corner. I decided to use sepia to enhance the antique feeling of this image. I feel the white of the toilet and the instruments, echo eachother, while the cardboard provided interesting lines for the eye to follow, and interesting texture. I tried to play with different formal elements, such as vertical and horizontal lines, in the upper right contrasting curved, organic shapes in the lower left. What are your thoughts?

That is a crazy combo, the 40 KW generator and a toilet. I wonder if it's an electric chair in disguise?
I agree with the grainy gritty effect and the sepia for the effect that you wanted. No one has mentioned the chains, which also add to the haphazard look of the place.

I think i maybe see such corners in a different light. i see them with intrigue and wonder... what is in that box... or what does the toilet look like. what does that machine do... i can almost smell what it would be like to move that cardboard box and all the dust flies off. I wonder if there is any buttons on the machine that i can turn or play with... .. i just want to start moving things around and LOOK... i think it feels more mysterious and exciting.....

From critique club.

Tyler, I am looking at your works for the third time now and realize that you are a master of mood. In this case everything - sepia, grain, items in the frame and composition prove that tis is really forgotten corner.

My problem is that I dont like myself in the mood which your photo casts on me. I hate such corners - I've seen them too much. And watching your work does not leave me any optimism and hope. This is definitely art, but I gave it only +4 because I can not live with such entropy...

Excellent use of black and white/sepia tone. The grain in this shot works really well also. I'd like to see the same thing without the toilet and cardboard, but it's still a great shot.

Perhaps, a little bit grainy. Try it with neat image.

I have no idea what the 'machine' is but it looks old and really sets the tone for the image. The sepia toning is wonderful, and the slight grain gives it a nice gritty texture too. The toilet adds humor, but also serves to break up the browns, and it doesnt look out of place either. Great shot!

Art is supposed to make you feel, this does the trick. It's uncomfortably funny! Well done.

Without the boxes and the toilet this shot would probably get an 8 from me.
