Camera: Canon EOS-5D

Location: Emerald Queensland Australia

Aperture: 4.0

Done in true librodo style. As per the following -

- White Board
- Natural light
- No flash
- Hand held
- Student
- Fans behind model

But there was one area I couldn't follow you with Manny. I had to shoot Canon...I just couldn't bring myself to pick up that Nikon...it just wouldn't be right.

So whilst I don't expect this one to do as good as the true Librodo image...I do expect this one to do Canon proud.

Interestingly....these were Librodo's settings -

Aperture: 2.8
ISO: 200
Shutter: 1/1250

Judi,
She is so beautiful! She looks a whole lot like Alicia Silverstone.
Wonderful shot and lighting.
Your old pal,

Nice work Judi. I didn't remember Librodo's shot but after seeing your photog notes it jogged my memory. Very good 'copy'. Skin tones are right on, her expression is genuine. Just missed top 5!

This photo was my favorite in the challenge. I gave a few 10's, but this one would have gotten a 20 if I could have.

I think it should have ribboned.

I think the processing on your surpasses the original! The only "nit" I would pick is that there isn't a clear view of either eye. I like the hair flying and don't mind it covering the eyes... I would just feel more connected to the girl if I thought she could "see me" by staring out through her picture.

I think this image is perfect both technically as well as mimicing the original. My only observation is with her expression that conveys defiance rather than fragility.

Now where on DPC have I seen this lovely, young lady before;-) I love how you closely emulated the original. The eye is immediately drawn to the girl found in the far left 1/3 of the frame. While for some circles outside of DPC the bright white background would just be inclusion of empty space that does nothing for the image in both the original & the emulation. Not so, says I, it is instrumental in showing us how the girl fills that 'empty space'. Even though she only occupies 1/3 of the space her presence in the composition becomes all that more noticable & powerful because our eye is drawn to the major element that serves to fill that empty space. Lighting on your model is wonderfully done - and I absolutely love the catch lights in her eyes. It just makes her eyes sparkle.

I don't remember the original so when I look at it now and compare with this one I'm not sure which I like better. They are both great. I particularly like how the tones appear in this photograph. The detail in the hair and eyes is amazing.
