lovley... i like how the focus is on the food and the dog is there in the background... that kind of allows us to see how the dog is seeing too! (He is only focusing on the food, not on us!)

Congratulations on a very nice photo and deserved ribbon . If I tried that with my dog, I would end up with teeth marks on the lens.

This is adorable. Great perspective here, the dog in the background is precious.

LOL, this is excellent! Gotta love the way the dog has his/her head tilted to get a better view. Classic Pavlov! Oh, and the dog is well blurred and focus on the meat is good, too. :) 10

The dog on Atkins? Tasty looking meat! The cocked head really sells this shot. Would make a fun shot for an ad! 8 -danny

Well concieved and technically good.
What makes this image good for this challenge is the relationship between the main subject and the dog waiting to eat it up. Like this one, the best images should relate the shallow focused main subject in a unique way with the out-of-focus background (or foreground as te case may be).

LOL! I know that kind of look of a dog. However, I would never use a fork: it would be eaten too. Also our Kaja would not sit still for long.
Very well done regarding the composition and light. a 9 from me.

Superlative use of SDOF. The clarity and detail of the meat is brilliant (gods, I'm getting hungry now), and I adore the moment you captured the dogs head. One of my favourites this week, can't think of anyway it might be improved, gets a 10

Beautiful subject, absolutely perfect for this challenge. I like how the fork and meat are symetrically located in the center of the frame while the dog has his head tilted. Great idea and well exectued, nice job!

This is perhaps one of the most creative and unique photos submitted for this challenge. Great clear focal point. Follows the idea very well... Not necessarily something I would hang in the living room... but wonderful!

Just love this one - totally fresh take on the challenge and a really good use of DOF rather than a gratuitous object (as is the case for mine I'm afraid!) shot close up. This has to be a 10 because I this really represents the concept and is not over-perfect. [10]

Love this shot! ...... but, I personally would have used a piece of grilled steak (maybe with a grill mark on it), would have been more appealing to me. I know the desaturation would not have been as pronounced, but it would have still been effective in my opinion.

Too Damn cute!! OK, well the meat looks a little gross :), but the concept is great. LOVE the dogs pose, even though you can't see his face you can get the feel of what he wants.

I like the unusual viewpoint here - shows such a different perspective. Although the meat gives a wonderful rich colour against the black, white and grey of dog and paving, I don't know that it's the most appealing foreground subject - and I quite like the look and feel of raw meat. Wonder whether a doggie biscuit would have made a good alternative or whether the lack of vibrant colour would have made it too dull? Anyway, this one has certainly made me think about the image.

Yuch! But lovely composition and idea.

DoF is great but the composition is too symmetrical - perhaps set the two elements on a diagonal?
