Last minute entry (again). I always seem to be scrambling to get something in. Haven't entered in a while, so i just HAD to do something. I'd been thinking of this all week... turned out okay.

It was VERY frustrating, as I picked up my new 40D about 2 weeks ago, and i just haven't had any time (work & business-travel) to play with it!!! I couldn't get the ACR update in time, so had to work with the JPEG ! Ugh. Still turned out pretty darned good, considering this was the jpg, and at 800 iso! Lovin the new 40D... just need more time !

Hope it does okay - but it really doesn't matter - I just wanted the darned UPDATE BUTTON BACK ! ;O)

pp:

curves
hue/sat
dodge & burn (to pull out the glass a bit & give the bg a rustic feel)

Now i just have to go buy a couple of wine glasses to replace the 2 that sacrificed themselves for this shot (don't think the wife was too happy with me). ;O)

I really loved this one when I saw it in the challenge! I'm so glad it finished so strong, even tho I gave it one of my highest scores, expecting it to ribbon . . .but an honorable mention: Certainly nothing not to be elated about! Congratulations!!

Good idea. I wish more of the glass were easily seen. Not sure how to light that, though.

I really like the lighting... the composition is great as well... the b/g is perfect... trying to find something to suggest as an improvement and can't... never thought of using a banana holder for grapes.. will now though.

Hope you did not have to go thru too many takes on this lol. Love the breaking glass in motion.

Very good idea. Unfortunately the glass is lost in the busy background of the grapes and it's hard to see the breaking glass and spilling wine. Maybe a different positioning of it?

The motion of the breaking glass seems lost a bit in the pattern of the grapes, the colors are so similar. Otherwise, quite nice.

well captured. Hope you used white wine to get it out of the carpet ;-)

I think the grape background interferes with the action a little.

you've got to admire someone willing to shatter glass and spill spill wine just to get a shot. The glare from the lights is a bit distracting, but other than that, well done. I hope you got that in one take.

I hope this didn't take too many attempts. Excellent timing. Good composition. There are a couple of white spots in upper right that probably could have been cloned out, or are those glass shards?

My fav in this challenge...it's an excellent idea and the title really fits. FWIW...I find the wine bottle distracting and I like my imagined view with it out of there ;) Good luck in the challenge!

LOVE the captioning.

The picture is even more fabulous. If I were voting I'd give it a high score indeed.

Intense. I like the grape and reddish theme. Maybe a more intense side light would help to make the wine pop more? I like it.

Great title. I love that this isn't called "Breaking Glass" or something :-) I really really love the colors and contrast, and DOF. Really great image. 10!

Great shot and fantastic capture of the action, which goes very well with the 'still' element of the image. Bumping to 9.

I love this with the movement and still life but the colors are to me a bit too much the same. Probably the brick background is what pulls my attention away. Great timing of the shot. Hope you didn't have to waste too much wine.

Nice job! I hope you got it this perfect on the first try. This one would be messy if you had to do a bunch of retakes. I love the concept.
