Photograph Information Photographer's Comments
Challenge: Shallow DOF (Advanced Editing I)
Camera: Fujifilm FinePix S602Z
Location: My front room
Date: Feb 8, 2004
Aperture: f2.8
ISO: 160
Shutter: 3 sec
Galleries: Black and White, Macro
Date Uploaded: Feb 8, 2004

Natural light from my hallway on a 3 sec exposure. I got the idea after playing around with book macros and coming across the globe - the juxtaposition of this and the book title just seemed appropriate given the recent decision to populate Mars.
Photo-wise, the post processing consisted of auto-levels to raise an image from an otherwise almost black original; the mono conversion using gradient map, and a run through with dust cleaner.

Might strong title there... there are people in the country that would agree and those that won't. You've done a very good job of meeting the challenge. I also think black and white works well with 'your theme' if not mine.

This looks like it was taken with black & white film. Even though I'm sure some detail lost in post processing because of the extreme blacks, I really like how this came out.
