it was raining cats and dogs, hence the soft bits on the image - raindrops on the lens. just some kids playing on a teacher's inservice day - it was gloriously warm, and almost horizontal rain.

A great honour - thank you, Don.

This is one of those shots that I saw and instantly clicked "10" - no hesitation. Wonderfully alive and atmospheric.

With the girl in that position and the boats in the background, I am reminded of a figurehead. It's a wonderful and strange capture. I think I would like it better without the bit of girl on the right.

Superb capture. I love the frozen moment. The post technique you used creates a very classic style image. A very fine photograph. Should have scored higher in my book!

Very nice shot Christian. I really like the darkness to it.

Yay! You have the ability to see that which no one else does, not even with their eyes while they're standing there. Then you manage to convey it to the rest of us (or at least some of us.) Congrats on the blue - a most well deserved honor indeed.

What fun! I love swimming in the rain. It looks to me like she's just launched and is about to fly off into the storm. Great shot, Christian!

Criminally underrated; one of my two 10's in the challenge. This is so matter-of-fact, so casual and yet so precise. It comes across as a perfectly-frozen moment in time, and the murky quality of the PP, the squareness of the framing, the hovering and brooding sky, all lend an almost aching sense of immediate reality, a glimpse into something we were not meant to see.

Interesting shot. I like how you included so much of the empty sky. It heightens the sense of the free fall.

ecstatic, frightening, impossible (and then I see the boy yelling! I was already giving you a 10. an 11?). Logically I know she is jumping off the pole, but visually/viscerally/emotionally I cannot accept that. I can only see her flying.

Looks like something taken back in the 50's.

I love the mood of this photo, the graininess really works well here. I think you left the person on the right side of the frame there on purpose, but I think he/she detracts from the rest of the photo.

This has some kind of 50s feel to it that is fun. I'm not a bit fan of noise but it seems to go well with the pic. Odd blur on the tree on the left. Love the kid on the right - wish I could see a little more of him.

Timeless capture. You probably should have cropped out the person on the right.

avg vote, woudl have liked to see the girl in bottom right not cropped so much, nice candid.

The blurriness of the boats looks visually odd to me against the sharpness of the woman. I like the mid-air capture though - looks like she had fun.

Seems pretty blurry but i do like the way you captured the leap and the person cheering on the side.

a little on the grainy/blurry side imo. also the person on the right being partially cut out detracts from the photo.

Interesting subject, it may helped to crop a little tighter and crop the person on the right out. I kind of like the grainy texture.

I'm almost guessing this is a lens-baby shot. Nice B&W conversion. I think a slightly wider crop would have been better to get more of the person's face on the right in the photo.

has a nice 50'S look to it. wonder why there are some very soft areas? had cropped off or wholly included the person at right.

Really nostalgic. The horizon is tilted to the right a smidge.
