Best of the lot so far. This is really interesting and has an old-world feel.

This is one of my favorite shots. I was torn because it looks a candid street shot, but you just never know. I like the placement of everyone but I wish there was more pop, maybe adjusting black and white levels a bit. I'm scoring it like a portrait and I hope it does well for you.

Cool photo, love the b&w treatment. This looks like a photo you would see in an old WWII book. Well done!
10/09/2007 01:31:25 PM
Interesting shot!

haha, I just posted in the forums I am not liking all the candids I am seeing in this portrait challenge, but then YOU go and bug the hell out of me by entering what is essentially a candid, but then making it one of the best shots of the challenge (so far, about halfway through voting).. You are messing with my head!!

4 or 9, 4 or 9...

dammit - 9 :)

Very nice :o)

Striking. Not too fond of the yellowish teint after PP though. And somehow, the picture does not appeal to me. I am sorry I can't be more specific. (6)

This is nice, maybe a little more around them so the lady on the far left isnt so close to the edge of the frame...

a stunning portrait in street-photo style. Fantastic. this would receive my meta-ribbon if they existed. maybe they should.
10/08/2007 12:45:53 AM
beautiful. I love it. I'm trying to think of a criticism. 9 for now.

wonderfully filled with a nervousness or awareness of the photographer...excellent shot!
10/06/2007 04:08:46 PM
Very nice one! Not sure about the cropping, though.

Looks like and old newspaper photo. I love the mood and the duotone was an excellent choice. It wold've been more of a portrait if they were looking straight into the camera, but I still love this picture. 10.
10/06/2007 01:22:16 AM

I just can't tell u how much i love this,i just can't ,i wish there was an 11 on the scale :D
10/04/2007 10:44:21 AM
Very good. Don't know if I like the yellowish tone for this, but that's personal taste. Lots of character showing here. The guy in the beret looks like he's telling a story and the others just don't quite believe his tale.
10/04/2007 05:35:37 AM
Great use of duotone, nice mood capture. See you on the front page - 9.
10/03/2007 08:46:36 PM

10/03/2007 08:41:20 PM
what a story this picture tells. A little heavy on the sharpening but I like it. My highest score after 50 images.

Some will say snapshot I say perfect. Superb capture and love the tones.
10/03/2007 04:10:41 PM
One of very few candid/street shots that I enjoy as a group portrait. The monotone works great.
