AFL Grandfinal Day - 2007 (Australian Rules Football)

The MCG - home of football 8am.

The members gather, hoards of them to get their seats, however the most stringent condition is the 'dress code'.

So we see many older men dressing up to attend a football game.

Came across this man, who looks to have travelled into town with his finery in his bag - he was tucked behind pylons of concrete preparing himself for that 'one day in September'.

Really a great shot. The processing is outstanding, too. I love the blue/grey/white color palette. Vastly underrated at 5.6xxx.

I love the starkness of this image. The composition and contrast are fabulous. It takes my imagination on a journey. Lovely piece of art.

I am amazed at how low this scored. DURRRR - shows how literal and un-artful the average voter is. Never change your prospective though. This is really fantastic.

I love this photograph but really don't think it was appropriate for the challenge. The colors and lighting are great. the textures are beautiful too. I would have liked to see the left wall cropped ouot a little more because it dominates a bit too much and it would be good to crop out about half of what is there to bring back the focus to the person in the center. Either way I love this photo

I love the cool feel of this shot. Sort of quirky and unique - not sure what he is doing but I have a strange feeling that I don't want to know! :) "Back" to bump you up to 8.

This has a Mapplethorpe sense to it. Love the hint of blur from him digging in the pocket. Wonderfully composed. Artsy. I wonder how the literal DPC voters will perceive it. Hopefully well - it deserves it.

Nice composition. It looks like he's about to teleport himself and he didn't think anyone was watching. Or else rip off his jacket and turn into superman or something.
