Taken at the Zurich Zoo in one of the rare moments when the leopard didn't sleep. ;-)

Thanks for the comments! What I'd like to say about them:

Contrast: Yes, a slightly higher contrast might have improved the image.

Make-up/unnatural: You're right, there's probably too much saturation around the eyes. However, the guy does indeed look like this. Here's what the unedited face looks like:

Selective Desaturation: Some love it, come can't stand it - it's always the same. Maybe I should have submitted it without any color:

However, I felt the look was less "powerful" like that.

Wow, are their eyes really that color blue? How beautiful! He is giving you "the look" =) I just love this! His white coat really stands out against the dark grey background.

Cool looking cat. I realize that he is probably an albino or something but the selective desat feel to this is kind of odd. I am sure he is an odd cat to be looking at. That said its got good focus and I like that he is looking at me.

wow talk about mean looking, I don't really like the selective desaturation.

Oooo and it don't look happy either. Nice and crisp focus on the eye's and good border. Maybe a little more contrast would help it pop!

This is a great photo and I think a bit more contrast would have made it absolutely stunning.

OMG staring right at me! great job with the partial desaturation. I like your choice of shallow DOF having only the head in focus.

the blue around the eyes looks unnatural.

I bet it is! Not your every day cat, at least not around my house.

I like this one a lot. The eye contact is great and although it's not the sharpest of images I think some subtle PP has brought out the detail very nicely. Good choice of border too.

very good focus and composition. the selective desat wasn't helpful here, makes his eyes look as if he wears make-up.

A slight more contrast and you could be in the top 10.

Great desat here (no too overstated) on what was already a lovely image. Bokeh and fra,me work very well
