Taken on one of our daily walks. Abbie sat here for a total of 7 seconds, looks posed but it's not. Was really happy with the outcome, it was low light. Just one of those happy accidents that keep you fired up. For every 250 shots, I seem to get one right.

Taken with the 100mm Macro, a lens that is very versatile.

Beautiful kid portrait! I love the bright blue of her dress contrasting with the muted reds of the bright. WONDERFUL shot!

Ah, yes - I remember this one during voting. What a cutie - this really is an absolutely stunning little portrait. I thought this was an easy top ten candidate but I guess some people just don't realize how rare these moments are! I wish I had one nearly as good for one of my daughters...

Awwww this is so perfect. She looks adorable. When they are that little they don't sit that long so I can believe this is not posed. Priceless and congratulations on your top 40.

Oh for heaven's sake!!!! This is breathtaking. Even more beautiful to me because her name is Abbie.

Congratulations. ..an excellent finish in a challenge like this for sure, but this goes way beyond any challenge results. It's a timeless treasure that will still take your breath away when Abbie is grown with kids of her own!

This was one of my "tens" -- sweet but not cloying. Interesting that it wasn't posed, because one of the reasons I loved it was the unselfconscious expression on the little girl's (Abbie's) face.

What a sweet sweet shot.

The only change I would consider is rotating the picture to make the wall straight , the wall and steps are clearly not in line with each other and you have chosen the steps to straighten (which could well be right) but as the wall is right next to the main visula element and a brighter colour I would be curious to know whether it could take at least a bit of straightening.

Apart from that - a delightful shot.

Nice contrast of her dress vs the grungy steps.

Very nicely done. I like her soft texture against the hard texture of the bricks.

What a pretty little girl, I love the pose and the blue dress against the grey stones really pops, a perfect score of 10 for this great portrait.

SWEEEET. Wonderful portrait. I love that her little toes are dirty. Great lighting and not cheesy like so many kids' portraits are. I love the natural framing of the bricks too.
