October 1.

My 10 yo nephew Chase and his new Cocker Spaniel, Roxanne.

Shot with a 70-200 f2.8L USM/IS that I do not own (a fact that is beginning to sadden me deeply)>

Yea, this was taken with a rented 2.8 last year. :) the f4 is doing a number to my shoulder as it is!

Now now- you have the 70-200 f 4 and that is a super lens !!!
I have tried the IS 2.8 and it's pretty heavy for my scrawny arms :) BTW-fantastic capture here-love the moment !!!

Just FYI - It's oversharpened. Lotsa jaggies in his hair.

You probably know that by now, LOL.

A boy and his dog -- classic! I think the b&w is a great choice here. Sweet expressions on both faces.

What a great portrait! I love the backlighting, and Chase's relaxed, natural expression. Adorable puppy too, definitely an image Chase will treasure for many years to come!

Like the black and white with the bright background. The title seems very fitting.

I love the contrasting expressions between Chase and Roxanne. Good use of B&W and the border really suits it. I bet your arms are getting a workout with that lens!

This will become so special to Chase as his pup grows bigger and changes. It's great that he'll have this memento from the beginning of their adventures together.

Roxanne!!! How wonderful. Like the crop and tonal range. Nothing like a boy and his dog. AWESOME

some great tones here, even if Roxanne doesn't look too thrilled.

the nikon equivalent of that lens is knee-weakening. i feel your pain.

What a sweet photo. The puppy looks so sad - I hope it's just in the image. Love the BW treatment.

A boy and his dog - this would make a beautiful framed portrait - great memories.

Awwww. ..I used to have a cocker spaniel that looked exactly like him, Mr. B!

From the thumbnails, I thought this was Jutilda's son, Grayson, only just a tad younger. What a cutie!
