the subject and dark mood of this shot is very appealing, and your technical choices of b&w and the angle accent it. I agree on the cropping of the left and the little boy does look like he'll "shoot his eye out"!

This is a very good picture. The shadows are great. The white balance is perfect. Lighting is also good, and the concept is original. I realy like this picture....great job....I think it's the only ten (10) in the group. Good luck, I hope you win.

Impact: V. Good (hard croping to left mirror frame will lift grade to execllent);
Focus: Good;
Story: Excellent;
Lighting; V. Good

The kid in the picture looks just like the little guy in the Christmas movie -- the one that wanted the Red Rider BB gun (You'll shoot your eye out!) If you aren't American, or don't know this movie, contact me and I'll get you a link!

Great idea and well executed. I think the only I might suggest would be a tighter crop on the right.

A better cropping to the left side to centre the picture better would have made a world of difference.

Great shot! I like the lighting and the use of B&W. I had a similar idea, but couldn't get it quite right. Good luck.

Man, this photo really moves me. Love the idea and execution.

One that should do very well, there is just a little to much wall on the left of the mirror for me but technically its a very good shot

Not that you have a lot of choice in the matter! (growing old I mean, happens to us all!)
But I like the idea and image very clear and great focus
Cheer up you look quite good!

I love the idea. And I love the composition of the shot, but something's bugging me.

I think maybe I'd prefer a softer focus on the picture of the boy, and a hard focus on the man. yeah, I think that's it.

A solid 7 though.

clever picture, hope you do well.

Great idea.

I find this to be a very touching photo. There is somehow a lot of depth here as well. I give it an 8

Great shot. Crop off a little on left.

Clever... I might have cropped it differently but its still a 7.

Great composition, and an original idea. I hope this does very well.

Every picture tells a story...great shot

Aw! This is so sad and really poignant- great job! 10!

Very nice approach to theme. I'd have cropped left side more.

Nice idea. Very good composition in the shot.

Superb. Great idea - and the pic looks great in monotone!

Wish the bottom of the young boys photo had not been clipped. You did okay, and I do like the light and tones.

You shouldn't even add a title to it, the pic speaks for itself. I like the angle and everything. 10!

Know that feeling very well !
Well captured

very nice composition - perhaps cropped a bit more on the left, or add a cross on the wall
02/11/2004 10:22:32 AM
Tells the story, excellent camera angle, good use of b&w, cropping out a bit of the left would concentrate my eye more on the subjects.
02/11/2004 05:31:38 AM
nice idea!!!
02/11/2004 05:28:10 AM
I Like this but I think I might have tried a tight crop on the left - the negative space there detracts for me.
02/11/2004 04:50:53 AM
Like the composition and juxtaposition of images which kept my attention.
02/11/2004 12:50:36 AM
Ex-cell-ent.....

...wow. Technically sound and emotionally very powerful. I like the verticals here, they seem to break up and divide the photo. Wow. I'm just really impressed with how incredibly effective this is! :) Definitely a 10!

really great idea and great execution carrying it out..black and white is a very good choice.-9
