Challenge: Letting Go (Basic Editing I)
Camera: Canon EOS-300D Rebel
Location: My garage, Walnut Creek, CA
Date: Feb 10, 2004
Aperture: f8
ISO: 100
Shutter: 1/3 second
Galleries: Emotive, Studio
Date Uploaded: Feb 10, 2004

In the Valentine's day theme I used a chrome metal heart as the dropped object. Camera on a tripod, a couple of 60 watt bulbs fairly close in and a flash on second curtain at 1/16th power to stop the fall. Hold heart in hand press cable release, drop heart. Pickup heart, repeat. A couple dozen times and I still didn't get what I wanted but this was closest.

Quite abstract. Would perhaps be nicer if the hand wasn't blured. (I know, impossible to do)

Very interesting effect. I've tried to do something like that with no success. I'd appreciate some pointers after the Challenge is over. Nice use of color and light.

i'd like it more is the dirty texture was solid black, but in this game ther is no major edits like that so credit where credit's due. 7
