There's just not a lot of either flora or fauna around here, but I diligently shot all the flora I could find. It's been awhile since this plant has seen rain. In fact, I think it's rather dead.

The fun part about this is doing "acid" within the basic rules. The downloadable action for acid involves blending modes - this edit does not. It does, however, involve a whole lot of trial and error. Good learning experience. Will be a Team Suck worthy score.

Much better than expected - thanks for all the excellent comments and I'm very glad this was appreciated.

Weed on acid?? Ah well, don't ask don't tell. :) Great job, Deb, I could go through all the comments and just repeat, but... no, wait, I think I will do that. Hang on- be right back...

...ok-- Congratulations, very nice composition and processing which makes for a stunning and unique shot with superb lighting, excellent shadows and lovely color tone. Beautiful in its simplicity, it demonstrates admirable skill and a clever mind and good eye to produce such a gorgeous, fantastic image with rich textures great tones and an inspired tint! Artfully perfect. I love it. Cool.

I figured a composite would be quicker than quoting all those comments and saying "I agree", "Yep", "What she said", etc.

Really do love the image, Deb and hope you're staying safe.

Congratulations on the OOBIE! Talk about making lemonade out of lemons. The PP is inspired. Only you, Deb, could have found the beauty in that sorry dead weed.

nice work Deb, congratulations! Love the concrete background and the shadows - but they must be from the other flowers outside the frame, am I right?

one of only 4 tens I gave out during the challenge, really thought this one had it. perfect shot all the way, glad I fav'd it.. even more impressed with the processing, transformed this image from average to "oh my god!".. but subtly.

Deb - take a look at that average from the commenters! Obviously you really struck a cord with a pretty darn significant group of people. Much higher than the average from my commenters, I will add. On a gallery wall, I suspect this is the one that would ribbon.

Congratulations a a great score Deb. :)
This did a lot better than I had feared, but not quite as good as it deserved imo. And I'm very pleased to see the avg. score from your commenters :)
Very well done

I voted this one a 9. It was one of my top three, but i knew that it was very difficult for a picture this kind to be appreciated by everybody. Congratulations on this wonderful picture.

Congratulations Deb. Any finish above 6 is great -- especially if you are shooting what you want rather than appealing to the voters. And Jeffrey is right--wow--look at the voter average!

Definitely a candidate for an OOBIE!

wow, I just noticed this one after commenting on the other one which was the original. Look what a dose of acid will do! Gotta get me some of that acid.

I can't say exactly why - but I really like this. Somehow it feels very pleasing to look at and that must be worth an 8 :) (but unfortunately I can't help feeling that I might be one of few who feels this way)

Perfect. Stark, long reflections of life in shadow, my eye drawn toward the wall the shadows. Which is more real, which more alive. Delightful. 10.

i love everything about this shot. colors, delicacy, shadows, minimalism, composition, dof just about everything. wish both of those flowers (main ones on the longer stem with shadows)in focus though still a very strong 9, which most probably will get bumped up to 10 before the voting ends :)

Love the contrast between little delicate flower and rough texture of the wall. It looks like the flowers shadow touched the wall gently. Like the tones matching the subjekt

Deb - this shows really well. I'd give you a 7 or 8 for it if I could vote.

Deb, I like the textures in this one. I also like how the DOF is arranged so that the front flower, and the portion of the wall are in focus, with OOF areas in between. Adds a nice tension to the photo. Also, the way the shadows reach out from the left add a wonderful balance to the flora on the right.

I would just like to say that this image stands out well amongst all the color and typical images seen in this challenge. THere were only a few that went a route that didnt present the "pretty". Those few are a refreshing break. Thank you!
