Love the mats which are also made from pencils, and the shavings in the bowls... great details!

What a fun idea. Great execution, too. I would have increased the brightness just to make it pop a bit more. Well done.

Very clever composition - it really looks Asian, I love your usage of the pencil shavings, and the pencils look better than regular sticks would.

I like how you put some thought into the challenge more than just chopsticks

You know, most of the chopsticks shots are simply ho-hum. However this one stands out from that crowd, imo, because it goes the extra mile with a complete setting to hold the illusion together. The lighting may be a little flat though, but I'd still take this over the others in a heartbeat. Well done to you!

I love the little tables. Tired of chopsticks in this challenge. Great idea and I don't think I'd want to eat the shavings. The red and yellow are a good choice here and the DOF is great.

Too many chopsticks and knitting needles.. sorry... but the bases make a nice touch...

It's funny how many people had this idea with the chopsticks. Yours is my favorite among the chopstick pictures, not only because I like the composition and the lighting, but also because you used the pencils in several different ways, even for the contents of the bowls. And if one looks at the picture quickly or from far away, one doesn't realize that anything's "wrong", it just looks natural. And then when you look another second or get closer you realize it's all pencils. Great idea!

wow! at first glimpse it's just a couple bowls with some kind of food and some pencils on top trying look like chopsticks, but then I look again and it's so much more! this is great. I love the idea of the shavings as the "food" and the full pencils as the "bamboo"? placemats! oh and I now see a slight reflection of the placemat pencils on the bowls! wouldn't it be awesome if you could somehow get a full reflection of the pencils on the bowl to make the bowl looks as though it's made of pencils? I dont know...just a random thought

very creative and like the use of colors, looks like you spent alot of time on it, but the lighting makes it look a bit flat.

very simple with nice color pallet. the mat, noodles, chop-sticks everything just perfect. not a fan of dull-white though...one of my favourites 9

I like the additional elements of the hot pads in your setup. Shows additional creativity over other chopstick entries. I also like the symmetry of your photo. The top corners are a bit dark, a bit more lighting or contrast might have helped the white bowls appear more white.

Ok, I did get bored with the chopsticks, but you really went for it!! Great usage of pencils!! To me tho, I think only 1 bowl would've been enough =)

I think that a black background would have added more punch to the shot.

I love how the bowl is the only thing in this photo that is not composed of pencils, I didn't notice until now and I give major props to the creativity, considering everyone chose to use the pencil as chopsticks in this challenge, you definately gave it an edge...

I think this would have been better if you focused in on one bowl. The pencils could have helped you create an interesting composition.

a tasty meal! nice graphic work, I had used only one meal, though, that could have been presented larger to show more detail. A little more contrast had also helped.
