This was all I could think of for the challenge. Learned how to make fake blood (looks pretty real hey) and took this myself with a timer. Blood kept running down too fast for the 10 second timer on the camera so it's not the best blood coming from the cut. Used some pliers and broke part of the blade off so that it looks like its in my arm. Window light with a reflector.

Due to the subject matter, I don't know how this will score - I may get marked down because of it. May also receive a lot of unfavourable comments.

Crop, contrast, usm, resize, vignetting.

FAKE BLOOD

INGREDIENTS:
5 tablespoons corn starch
2/3 cup corn syrup
1/3 cup water
4 teaspoons red food coloring
a couple of drops green food coloring

PREPARATION:
Mix the corn starch with the water, make sure it is totally mixed, then add the corn syrup, again make sure it is mixed well. Add red food coloring into the mixture, then add a couple drops of green food coloring to take the "pink" edge off the red coloring.

Small Batch – (1/3 cup approx)

1Tablespoon Cornflour
11/2 Tablespoons Corn Syrup
10 ml Water
1teaspoon Red Food Coloring
Couple drops Green Food Coloring

This stuff is really sticky and sweet but looks pretty blood like.

well, this certainly stands out in the thumbnails - up close it doesnt have the impact intended. not a bad idea, executed well.. maybe a tad too much vignetting added in. but overall solid.

overdramatic and stupid imo.

I think the problem is the amount of blood for no apparent cut yet, plus the blade is at the wrong angle. A cut across the vein is easy to stop bleeding, whereas a long cut along the vein will remain open in time to bleed out. Nice bloodwork though!

Awesome job! This looks very real! I would have liked to seen a little more DOF so that your fingers were in focus, but great job!

Great job with the blood, it looks very real and makes for a disturbing image. I like how the light frames the hand and draws the viewers attention to the...blood. Ow ow ow!

uhm, ok.

The only suggestion for improvement would be to put a small spot light for the rings, just to heighten the emotional stress.
