My first attempt at "texture overlays", I combined and using the following steps:

copied and pasted cloud texture on top of image
set opacity to 36%
Used eraser tool to erase cloud texture on trees and clump of grass in foreground.
copied and pasted cloud texture again and masked with black vector mask
Painted sky clouds back in with 19% opacity brush with white foreground
Duplicated original lake layer and boosted saturation, applied mask and painted back in
sharpened

Really well done. I agree that it's more interesting with the clouds, and I really wouldn't have guessed you used an overlay to do it.

I saw that cool cloud shot today too. WOW - what a great use of it - you'd never know it wasn't a true reflection of the sky. Way to go.

Great job! Really looks like the clouds belong there and are reflecting in the water.

you had a brilliant scene to start with except for the blown out sky .. hard to avoid when your scene and your sky need different exposures .. i love the way you've brought in the clouds to fix the sky and to create a fantastic reflection .. love the result of your processing .. :)
