Put a small crystal vase with water and oregano on top of a glass table (chose the oregano because the leaves were small and the structure open enough not to overwhelm this particular vase; I grow it to feed the bunnies, mostly, so I always have some). Flashlight under the table pointing up, black cloth draped around the supports on the tabletop and paper "walls" I put behind the table. Played lots with various settings and moving the oregano sprigs around. Liked this shot best because it has the starburst highlight right next to the oregano and I think it leads the eye to a good starting point for enjoying the image. And it's pretty (to me, anyway).
Ended up cropping a lot because the tabletop is old and scratched and this is Basic editing so I couldn't burn out the scratches. That's OK, because the closer crop shows off that one lovely little starburst and the texture on the oregano better. And, I didn't shoot at this angle (affixing the flashlight to something would have been a real PITA!) but it interests me much more than the right-side up, straightened original perspective.
I like the play of light and reflections quite a bit and really had fun with this one.
Still not sure I've come up with a decent title ...
Fed the oregano to the downstairs bunnies when I was done shooting ;-)
PP - converted from RAW, rotated, cropped, increased brightness and contrast, shifted hue towards cyan, added border, resized, sharpened. |

I loved the detail and the composition of this shot. Thought it was very well done. Had it picked for Top 10 personally. Sometimes you just never know... :-)

| Good use of rotation and nice lighting through the leaves. I find the sparkle on the rim of the glass a distraction. |
