Oh dear me! I haven't been feeling too good past couple of days, but I saw this idea in a magazine and I wanted to do it so badly. I just got up and did it! Took around 60 shots but this 1 was the good 1 and I'm not 100% happy with it but beggars can't be choosers lol, had to set cam on tripod and on self timer as I had to go open the tap and place hand on shot... was hard!! This better pay off, my last entries have been a bit disappointing =(

Arghhhhh setting this up was well odd, basically got a black cardboard to get a black background and cover the tiles in the kitchen, source of light used was my canon 430 flashgun triggered by a transmitter (clever stuff <3) =)
I ended up double "bagging" my flashgun and actually placing it inside the sink!! I dont' know if that's a crazy thing to do but flashgun still works hehehehehehe

Post processing was black and white conversion, crop, tone curves blah blah blah

Errrmmmmmm it's probably too dark I don't know why but my conversions always seems to come out so dark, it's the way I like it!!!

Overall I am happy with this shot hope most people agree, altho will probably be a tough 1 as there's so many entries...

Hey Luana,
It is nice to see you entering challenges on a regular basis. This makes me even happier about the membership. This is a very cool shot, and I think that it would do very well in a low-key challenge. I also think that it should have done better here, but these voters are tough to figure out some days. Overall, I do not think that the image is too dark, but the dark spot on the hand that is near the middle of the frame really grabs the eye and holds onto it. It also looks like that thumb is just a little too close to the camera. I think that lengthening your depth of field, thus bringing that thumb into focus, would have helped your score a little. Looking through the challenge, I am really baffled that this didn't finish higher. Nice work, and keep shooting. What matters is that YOU like the end product. High scores are just a nice bonus sometimes.

Thanks for the support Eric!! Well at the end of the day I got a fave for this and that made me happy, at least 1 person liked it regardless of its faults hahahahahaha it could have been improved I knew from the time I entered but there you go... score actually went up last minute by the looks of it which is odd as usually it goes down lol so I'm happy with this finish
