Challenge: Topless...With No People (Basic Editing)
Camera: Nikon D200
Lens: Nikon AF Fisheye-Nikkor 10.5mm f/2.8G IF-ED DX
Location: Palm Beach Gardens
Date: Nov 11, 2007
Aperture: f:20
ISO: 125
Shutter: 1/15sec
Galleries: Landscape, Action
Date Uploaded: Nov 11, 2007

Thank you all for the votes and comments. It is a Boxster S. As it was pointed out by some, I was only doing about 40 MPH, it would have been ilegal to go faster on that road, which is the best one could find for this shot, so, it was the slow shutter speed and fisheye lens that produced the effect. In advanced editing,I could have done something to conceal the speedometer reading. The camera was rigged this way and controlled by radio (hidden in my left hand). Thank you again.

Good idea, great effort and awesome picture. And thanks for sharing the setup. I wish we had more shots that are so carefully thought out on DPC.

Thank you for the explanation. I'm new here and still trying to figure things out. I would like to enter some challenges soon, but want to be sure I understand how things are done here. So, now I see I need to read the description of the challenge more carefully. Thank you for answering.

Debbi, your opinnion is based on the challenge name or title.

It would be great if all of us, dpchallengers, read the challenge DESCRIPTION and not just the title of it. In this case, although the challenge title says "..With No People", the description says "..The photo may not have a person as its main, topless subject.". Senor_Kasper's photo has a car as it's main topless subject, so it perfectly fits the challenge description.

I can't blame you for the confusion though, since there is a contradiction in the wording of the name and the description of this challenge. Maybe the SC could consider posting a copy the DESCRIPTION, in red fonts, in the voting page.

This is real man...the closer objects will blur more that the objects in the distance. Objects in the center will not blur at all.

This is an "abc" concept with closer and far objects in regard to motion blur. Try to blur the Sun by driving fast; I mean go really fast, if you accomplish Sun blurring, then we should consider looking into this picture in this regard.

Not only this, but also from the shutter speed of 1/15 I bit you he was going at a speed of less than 50KM (30 miles) / hour.

I'm sure I'm the hundreth person to say this but it is an excellent shot but it was topless "without people." Maybe the intent was no topless people, but a literal interpretation knocks points off.

This is a neat idea for topless. I was thinking a convertible would come in, but this is a cool way of shooting it. Were you actually able to get your face in the mirror, the sky, road etc without retouching? I've gotta try a shot like this.

Okay, after revisiting the rules, I now realize that a person can be in the composition, but not as the main subject. My bad. Good luck! (7)
