[quote=JBHale] .... because of the lack of creativity. The problem I see with it, is that it's just a picture of a nutcracker. It's a photo that anyone can take after buying the thing.....

yes you are correct, the sun, sea, sand, stars, flowers, trees. mountains sky.... are all there... what's the big deal of just transferring them into pixels....

Although there's npthing technically wrong with the picture, I think people might have voted it lower because of the lack of creativity. The problem I see with it, is that it's just a picture of a nutcracker. It's a photo that anyone can take after buying the thing. It would be srot of like someone entering a straight on, emotionless picture of someone's face, with a plain, solid background into a portrait challenge. I wouldn't have given it a one, but perhaps a 3 or 4.

Sean, thank you for your comment, and thanks to the others that took the time.

i wasnt going to participate in this challenge but happened to see this nutcracker, its a real nutcracker that is being sold in a lot of stores in New York, with this package that shows in the photo - i only changed the BG paper to blue.

i know exactly what technically is wrong with this photo - she is off center and the writing is not straight - again, it's a photo of the whole package. the blue BG is a tiny noisy.

other than these 3 faults, there are NO other technical faults.

i think this was (is) really funny but people here obviously had to "show" me something... what exactly they wanted to "show", i dont know, they havent had the courage to say... at least not during the time for comments and voting.

frankly, i am disgusted with the reaction to this photo.

this photo is not a 1 a 2 or a 3, not technically and not by interest - i had about 350 views during voting just a bit more than the majority on the first page!

LOL! Great photo & concept! I really hope you got all your "ducks in a row" and took a photo of the completed concept before you added the words!

(Otherwise, you have a DQ on your hands, My Friend,...unfortunately & sadly so. I DO mean sadly...for I love this! I pray that this lady doesn't get a third term or all men in the U.S. will need to begin wearing a "catcher's cup" as standard issue dress wear...:}) Mark me a 10 on the emotional factor alone! :)
