This time he's appearing from the specialty cauliflower and the car dealership. You'll see what I mean in a minute...

I had to use him again because he's more a suggestion of a man, than an actual person, thus mysterious - to me at least - and reminds me of something I might have a nightmare about.

Yesterday at the grocery store, I saw this most unusual mini cauliflower. they were $3.50 a head - and a head was about as big as a pingpong ball.

I tweaked and processed, using some Lucis and the usual levels, hue/sat, yada yada:

Then the merry experimentation began. What to do with tiny purple cauliflowers?

Not to bore you with my inner turmoil, let me cut to the chase:

I layered on this window filter, of which I'm very fond:

As a base for this total image, I used a purple canvas. First processed cauliflower, then window filter in 50% opacity. I increased the contrast on the cauliflower and saved the result.

Then I created a new canvas and opened up The Man:

Over that I layered the above described image. I erased with a fuzzy brush the layer off of the man, his reflection in the water, the water horizon and then did some squiggles of water coming down the picture.

Saved and ran the whole thing through Lucis Exposure and a bit of perfectum. Added black frame and saved for web.

Let me say - and I have no idea if anyone will take the time to read this tome - this is the most fun I've had in a while. It's like playing in the sand box. The result isn't so important to me as achieving the next step I have in my mind while doing the edit. If in the process, I create a decent image - well yay.

Very cool effect, and it looks like you had a lot of fun with this one. This layering business can be a bit addictive, can't it? It's so fun experimenting.
