O.k., I love experimenting with water so I don't need a lot of encouragement to do this kind of shot ;-)
I'd decided to leave this challenge out because I didn't have a clue what to do. Then I read Libbys liberty comment in this thread so.... I thought I'd give it a try.
I’ve bought myself a second SB800 for Christmas, tried it with my other SB800 on this shot and I’m quite pleased with the result so far.

Post challenge:
A big thanks to all for the comments, votes and constructive criticism. It’s been a turbulant week!
For Hannah Haneck and Andrew andrewt. The rim of the bowl I was using for the water was immediately under where I cropped – there was no more of the reflection to show (unfortunately the drops don’t always drop where I want them to ;-)
Thanks a million to Chris Cboydrun for the first 10 he’s ever given.
To John johntimber, thanks for the “slightly over-sharpened” comment. I’d looked at the pic so often, I couldn’t really see it properly any more.
For Alex AVP for the “overall wierdness”. I love that comment and I couldn’t agree more!
And for Kevin xodiak. No way! ;-)

Thats an awesome drop shot. I did a few of these last year, very fun. None of mine turned out this nice. Mine all seemed to have one drop coming back up. So how did you get this nice "flowered" splash?

I love the reflection. This is your best one by far. Don't care what the votes say. :)

Well, I'm shocked. :) This DEFINITELY should have ribboned. It's fantastic!

As far as drop shots go, this is the most beautiful of them all - just totally stunning. I never got around to voting on this challenge, but it would have gotten a 10 from me.

Deserved a ribbon as far I am concerned. Thanks for the explanation - I guessed as much that you really had no choice but to crop - Andrew

Gees, these drops are becoming a commonplace and their abstract shape can be fit into any challenge with no particular meaning in any of them. Great timing, nice lighting colours, but very overused.

I sighed when I saw this, 6 months ago I would have rated this a 9 or 10, but lately this water drop type shot has been on the front page almost every week. I know it is difficult to capture and I appreciate your efforts, but at the same time it is getting redundant.

Oh WOW. If this doesn't ribbon I'll be shocked! :D I LOVE the clarity of everything and that reflection is so neat. The only thing that's bothering me is the crop - I don't like the way the refletion is cut off down at the bottom. Awesome capture!

No vote from me: I don't think I can stand to look at any more of these - not matter how technical good they might be. The faxcination stopped long time ago (at least for me)

having seen drop shots the last 3-4 challenges gets tiring. still this one is really special, notable for colors composition, and overal weirdness 8
