We've had some serious fog around here so getting out to do some impressive perspective shots has been hard. The relevance to the challenge is that the lines of perspective are there, leading away to infinity - it's just not the dominant element in the image.

The lighting from the street lights were putting out amazing rays through the haze of the fog and I tried my best to capture it. It was sub zero outside and messing about with Xmas Party drunks during long exposures and the cold was definitely challenging in itself..!! Once guy stopped right in frame and whilst he wasn't there for the whole exposure he was there long enough to leave a really spooky impression. The lights behind him are from a moving car. All in all a quite nicely dramatic and eerie scene, with perspective :)

pp: to B&W from RAW, blacks, contrast, levels, usm, noise ninja. I tried burning in the tree where the street lamp light overpowers it but it looked too artificial, so I left it alone.

Post Challenge: I'll get crucified if I moan about 20th place on this one or the score, but in truth I really expected it to do better. I love this shot and is one of my personal faves - going to need some help from some of you with some decent PP on it before I print it, but will post in the forum. I'm not bad with ps but I think I've still got a way to go.

Thanks for all the comments, votes and feedback - it really is much appreciated...

Hopefully you're a bit more satisfied with this result. :-) Note the difference in the commenter average - this means you struck a very strong chord with a fairly good sized piece of the community. And thank you for not burning the tree.

Magical and totally entrancing. Almost unworldly. Very well seen, and LOVE the choice of exposure to get the glow. Would not even be close to the same picture without the guy, and without him apparently in a suit. Very nice work.
