Absolutely gorgeous! This picture is definitely worth a thousand words. Everyone of them are loud and clear too. I travel and do medical missions and this is the kind of photo I dream of capturing. Bravo!

It's when you break away from the shots of beautiful young women that you're so often recognised for (though they are always very well executed) that your work really shines for me. It's just a personal thing but I feel that shots like these carry so much more emotional weight - the complex expression, the hand that cradles him, the two little flies... A thoroughly deserving blue ribbon.

One truly appreciates the absence of a veil :-) Especially since there are so many of those in India... The fly is the crowning touch here. Congrats on blue.

Let me add own comment of admiration for a photo that captures a whole world of heart strings within the shape of a single expression. You don't need me to tell you that you are The Master!

Thanks a lot everyone. India was an overwhelming exeprience. It's one big stage...wherever you point your camera is worth "freezing". The people are just amazing. So much character and so much colours all over. A must-see place for photographers. You can't go wrong with portraits there.:)

this photo slowly comes into view. first the face. or first, those eyes, then the face. then the hands round the face, then seeing whose hand is whose. then I see the fly above his eye. and then the last details come into view... another fly... a ring. It's this inability to be seen all at once that makes this photo special.
