My mom passed away just a few weeks after this photo was taken. This was the last time my kids saw her alive.

Technically, not the best.
Emotionally - the best, hands down.

The little smile on the face of the girl is magical. You can tell that she is loving every moment and very into the moment with her grandmother. The family resemblence is amazing. You have a shot here that is worth a million words. Well Done

Thank you for defining "best of" as best for you, and not best for DPC, and letting us have a glimpse of this very special and heartrending moment in your life.

This is an absolutely lovely family photo. If I knew the people in the photo, it could become a treasured photo. Your title implies an ending, which would be superbly sad. But I don't know the people or understand the context, and without that, it is less significant to me. Standing alone in the voting, I fear it will not score up to your emotional hopes for it.

Beautiful image that will be cherished. Focus is bang on and lighting is just right. May not score well in a "best of" challenge, but again a very special picuture Good Luck. 7.

I think I may have already commented favourably on this photo, and I like it just as much on second viewing. Moments like this are so important, and it is wonderful that you have been able to capture it with such empathy. You should be proud of this on a photographic level, but the value of the photograph to you, and ultimately your little girl, goes far beyond that.
