 Taken thru the window, limbs on the bird feeder were about 8 foot from the window. The challenge is to not scare them off - have quite a set up of black curtains, etc. The DOF was not too bad considering I had the lens wide open with marginal light.

This is one of the finest images of this challenge. I love the play of subtle beiges around the arresting orange of the beak, crest, and wings. The one thing I would like to do with the image is reframe so that my eye would have more room to the right where the cardinal is looking. So I wanted to give you higher than a 7... OK, let mercy triumph over judgment: 8! Well done.

Nice, though the shadows at the top kind of guide my gaze toward her belly instead of her face. DOF is perfect for this sort of shot.
