 Taken at the World Bird Santuary in which I visit often as you see with some of my challenge entries. This is a Harris Hawk and they are quite vocal. I have about 10 shot I've been taking out and putting in for this challenge finally landing on this shot. This is the final cut and I'm swithcing no longer. I have many from the wild in flight and decided to go with this instead so I hope I made the right descision but I have a bad feeling. I purposely left the beak blown out as I like the look but I'm prepared to get some comments. I'll add editing steps later.

Thanks for all the great comments and critique, it was fun. I had lots to choose from and I'm happy with 18th out of all the great pics in this challenge, very honored!

ah this is just gooooorgeous!! excellent dof, the texture of his feathers is astounding. egads id be shaking trying to take pictures of such a beautiful bird.

I like the sharpness and action in this shot, but in my opinion the dynamic contrast between the highlights on the beak and the dark space at the edges of the photo is a bit too harsh.

Nice detail and cool pose. A shame he isnt looking up just a wee bit more to get more eye in the shot. But very nice none the less.
