Lovely warm shot and the dirty fingernails are great - afterall, are they ever clean for long?! Nice light and contrast. Back to bump you up to 8.

One of my three favourite images in the challenge. A wonderful interpretation of what I can truely believe would be an earliest childhood memory. Love the Black and White conversion and the DOF that you have used. Magnificent and straight to favourites. I hope this does brilliantly for you

I LOVE the dirty little fingernails. I think the image would be ok, average pretty, without it. But its the child's fingernails that tell the story. I love that the dirt under the nails makes me want to know more about the mom. I LOVE the fact that she isn't a "perfect (in the traditional sense) mother," but more alive more natural, more real. I also think the wood with the nails really works. good job!

Emotional and loving. Great use of b/w. I'm wishing the wood wasn't there, it seems to add a bit of harshness to such a sweet image. Still my favorite here though.

Great composition and the soft feel works well for the mood portrayed here. I wonder what the effect of sharper focus on the hands, or just the baby's would be, but I's great as it stands.

Beautiful lighting and emotion. I wonder about the placement of the hands... could this be even stronger with a reason for holding hands, perhaps a bit more context?
