Thanks everyone for all the wonderful comments, I took this in the morning of eclipse day at about 5:20am The moon was quite high in the sky so I had to go quite a ways up to get closer to the mountain to get this shot....I enjoyed chasing (It moves quite quickly) and the quick set up in my mind as I travelled, I guess I'll have to try cloning in a kid on a bike

I didn't vote on this competition, but if it did, yours would have gotten my best score. I have never seen a moon depicted quite like this! Uh, unbelievable.

Very cool. I really like how the trees can be seen not as objects, but rather the edges of a ragged moon. Congrats on the honorable mention!

The choice of placing the trees against the moon really sets this one apart from the other moon shots. Instantly reminded me on old horror movie posters, the elegant, "romantic" vampire version if you wish... 9 from me.

OK there may be one moon shot where the subject is slightly brighter and clearer but yours is still the best of its kind (imo) in the competition because of the wonderfully dramatic tree line silhouetted on it and the very clever implied leading diagonal line. Bumping to 9 great shot

Great capture of the moon at that size. The boldness and angle of the trees make this shot and I like how you left the blackness to fill the remaining area of the frame.

I really like the silhouette of the trees. Reminds me a bit of the cover scene from the movie E.T. I almost expect to see a boy riding his bike across the frame.

One of the best moon shots.

Nice composition, but I wish the moon was in focus. Try shooting with a 50mm prime focus lens...with the focus on infinity, you'll get a crisp tree line and a crisp moon.

I'd really like to see this a tad sharper....but a very good shot!

I really like the use of the tree foliage to create a silhouette infront of the moon.
