Gorgeous shot. Deserved a higher placement.

Can you let us in on some of your processing? Is some of the OOF blur added in processing?

No blurring in PP; it was just shot at f1.8, the wine glass and bottle are pretty far away relative to the cherries. There wasn't too much PP, main thing was dogding around the cherries a little to highlight them.

Dang! Well, I certainly hope you've framed this and found an appropriate place of honor for this in your home. Beautiful image!!!

Nice use of DOP to give the wine and glass that subtle blur. Beautiful! 9

the cherries look very good, would've liked to seen the wine in focus.

I LOVE your lighting on this one! Spot on... I think, though, you could have done without the wine glass, as the background is a little too cluttered. Giving it the highest score of the challenge - 9.

Fine art! Just beautiful. The quality of light (and shadow) is just masterly here as is the simple composition and the fantastic effect of the shallow DOF on bottle and glass. I LOVE THIS.

Nice, but where's the wine? (EDIT: I found the wine! But it was only in the tumbnail that I saw it. Bumping it up to a six.)

A full bodied flavor with just a touch of cherry. Nice, but I think the wine is a little too oof. IMHO

Oh, this is SWEET! Very nice. Great idea, I love the artistic choices you've made here with the background, lighting, subject material, etc... The only minor nit I see you taking a hit or two on is the little bit of grain in there (I'm not taking issue with it, but other's might).

Nonetheless, I'll be surprised and disappointed if this doesn't make the front page at rollover. Good luck!

Love it!...but you can't really see the red wine, yet you named it cherries and red wine

I really like the softness that you have captured in this picture. Red can be a very harsh colour, but here it just seems warm and inviting. very crisp and clean. i really like the fact that you have made the rest of this shot OOF, it lends its self so well. very well done 9

I love the mood here and oof background that gives the hint of the bottle and the glass without being too distracting.
