This was hard, not the actual shot, but wasting so much milk and so many oreo's. Setup was a pillowcase backdrop, a glass of milk, an oreo balanced on the far edge of the glass, and alot of towels to catch the slashing milk. My camera was about 5 ft awat, my flash was at a 45 degree angle straight ahead, and there was a silver reflector halfway between the cup and the camera. My wife dropped a rubber thing from one of my screwdrivers into the milk while I was shooting the camera w/ a remote. The timing was hit or miss to say the least.

Photoshop was- convert from RAW, curves, levels, clone out some crumbs in the milk, clone out a shadow from the glass on the backdrop, smooth the background w/ the healing brush, resize, reduce noise, usm (i think), save for web. Lots of fun tryng to push my skills w/ photoshop to make this look as black and white as possible without cheating.

And hopefully this does alright because I would hate to see all that milk and those oreo's go to waste...

Really nice shot, nailed the timing here, the one thing I would like to see would be added contrast, right now it looks rather flat, I think bringing up the contrast could add a lot of pop, here's a quick edit I did, hope this is helpful, nonetheless, this is a really great shot.

I brought out some contrast in the splashing milk. I couldn't get quite what I was thinking of, probably the best way to do it would be by bouncing the light off a wall to the side, it would add some contrast. Take it or leave it thought, just my opinion, really great shot still, keep it up.

edit: changed the edit just a little.

Looks like pure mess, as well. I hope you didn't need too many takes to get the final shot.

Great Capture, wish the splashing milk was a bit more contrasting to the background.

I had the same idea...now I'm glad I didn't do it because everyone would be comparing it to this one and I would've lost lost lost. I gave this a 9. The reason for keeping it from a 10 would be the lack of detail in the upper droplets. AND...it's not as interesting a shot as the ones I gave a 10 to (And I only gave 2 10's)

nice motion capture I wonder if a black background would have made the subject pop a bit more.

Nice! A very classic shot.... done w/ trial and error? Is this the person who does all the drip shots?
