I had this idea while trying to execute a slightly different version with water being poured into the spoon and spraying out. I poured water over the back of the spoon & then flipped the shot. I discovered it's very hard to "freeze" water cleanly in a pic - and I did not truly accomplish that here but I still like how it looks.

Shot outside in bright sunlight in front of a piece of blue poster paper. The paper was a little creased & folded and that ended up giving me great variety in tones in the background. Shot in RAW. RAW conversions. Elements - selective color, crop, USM, neat image, border, save for web.

Post Glorious Ribbon Winning Moment: WOO-HOO! It's been a loooooong time baby! I was afraid I may never see the home page again - especially with ribbon hogs like Timfy playing here. Thanks for the comments and for no votes of 1 or 2!

You little beauty! Whooped Tim's backside this time, eh! ;-)

This was one of my top scores (his scored one lower), but I only managed to vote on about half of them. Congratualtions on the ribbon. ;-)

This is really nice. The detail in the splash is perfect. I think the only thing I would have liked to have seen would be a smoother background, but thats just me.

Good idea... I like the droplets at the top of the image, however the large splash still connected with the spoon isn't great, and the water spilling off the bottom of the image is unbalancing. Creases in the background also a negative, though I do like your choice of colour. Definitely a concept worth playing with.

Positives: The splash has impact and it's got good color.

Negatives: Lighting isn't that special (just ok) and it looks way over sharpened or over contrasted. It could also be due to the lighting which is just too harsh which ruins the fluidity of the water, if that makes sense. In addition, the background wrinkles shouldn't exist in a setup shot like this. Makes it look amateurish.
