Week 8

We had a huge snow storm this week and I decided to take the p&s with me on my way to work. I cross over these tracks dailey and when I came to them the snow was falling so hard that teh tracks just disappeared into the whitout. This is aanother shot from the truck so getting the angle I really wanted didn't happen but I did like how it turned out. I wanted the cinamatic feel to this so I cropped it long and used the large black border.

i would like this more were the camera closer to the tracks but that is strictly personal opinion, still a great shot

Oh wow, I love this shot. What I would say is a boring scene has been completly transformed with the snow, having captured the falling snow adds alot of interest to this. I like you frame by the way

Trevor! I LOVE this photo! LOVE IT! I love the lines that lead into the snowy distance, and the crisp detailed texture in the snow coming down. Way to GO! Totally awesome!

I like this a lot. It definitely has that cinematic feel and you nailed the exposure and B&W conversion. The only other thing I can say is that my mind wants to look down the track but my eye is drawn to the signal on the left. Maybe one of Larus' ladies walking in from the whiteout would be a great addition. :-)

Ugh. Aren't you sick of the snow? I am. That must have really been a heavy snow storm to get it captured so clearly "on film". Hope you didn't hang around too long taking shots, it looks cold.

An excellent capture of a blizzard! I do like the way the tracks just disappear and those are some seriously large snowflakes. Very cool shot - thanks for sharing it with us!

Oi! That's a lot of snow! The tracks are the bomb - the tracks into oblivion! Awesome shot.

I really like this one. I like the train signal on the left and the tracks disappearing into the snow. The cinematic approach works great with this scene....I think you could have gone even wider on the border.

This makes me want to tilt my head and stick my tongue out to catch the snowflakes. Very cool looking!

Where's the bird?

Nice shot. It works all around but the fading tracks make it.

Great image!

Good choice on the style - the tracks fading into the distance are so classic. Great sense of nostalgia.

This is stunning! I love how the tracks disappear into the snow storm. The exposure looks perfect. I'm a sucker for snow photos since snow is such a novelty to me.
