Should have been top 3 at least for me. Was my only 10. I love the colours of the sky and the floats. The POV is excellent and gives a great persepctive. Added to fav's. Well done on the 12th place and PB also.

To those who may have wondered what these things are: A few weeks back we had a significant oil spill in the San Francisco Bay, when a cargo ship brushed against the side of the SF/Oakland Bay Bridge (you may have heard of it). This took place about 5 miles from this location. In order to contain the spill, in some locations, "booms" made up of rubberized sheets separated by floats were lowered into the water. What you see here is one of those booms apparently forgotten and washed up on the shore. (For some reason, this particular stretch of beach attracts all the undesirable stuff from the Bay.) Seemed like a good spot to look for "pollution" in action and we found some.

Needed to get up close and personal with this subject, otherwise "Petro Boom" could not be read and the irony of this situation would have been lost.

Beautiful colours. That sky is fabulous. Very nice image.

But what are they? Floatation devices to control oil spills?

I would sue the darn company who left them there.

Ooops. How often do we see this where efforts are almost counter productive. Rich array of colours and the lighting has been well handled.

I like this photograph. It shows that the world is beautiful and ugly at the same time. The movement in the waves adds a lot.
