Thanks to all who commented and voted, my first real top 10, w/o being dq'd.
This is my 10 year old son, kids can be so versitile. :) Oh yeah, and if you notice the boards at the top are strait and it became more crooked as they go down, that was a little annoying.

Libby - I'm really glad this did as well as it did. It was a good take on the theme and I wondered whether people would not take the time to really look at it and enjoy it.

Congrats on a great placement. Glad my 9 helped, and I'm pleased to see it was the work of one of my faves on this site.

this has a very 1920s painterly feel to it. Superbly composed.

You've lost detail in the post-processing, but soemthing tells me that's what you were after. I like the use of the RoT.

This is very classic. A little closer and less wall would have been cool.

Fit's the challenge nicely. I like the weathered effect on the woodwork/paintwork, and the lighting on the face to draw you into the picture.

Wow! Great lines, love the processing. Great shadow over her ever so slightly. A bit of an eerie image, but quite cool.

Cool shot.... just a little too much negative space on the right... I would have halved it.

This is a great modern take on the "Gibson Girl" series in the late 1800s through about 1924. There is just something "Victorian" about this that I really like.

I love how simple yet effective it is. The b&w of the wall emphasizes the color and a candid/caught feel of the peeking face.

very nice photo. great composition. i feel like i'm standing in sand at the beach looking at an old dilapidated and deserted beach house and seeing a glimpse into the past. i love how the girl in the photo has no idea anyone is looking at her. feels like she is watching the ocean and waiting for her long lost love to return in one of the big ships. her face and eyes make me feel like the weather across the ocean is turning bad... maybe dark clouds are rolling in and she is growing worried.

love it!

I like the mystery and the “retro” look. In my opinion this image definitely deserves to be among the winners!

I like the processing you have done here, I am not sure why, it reminds me of something. Almost an old world feel to it. I can not put my finger on it, but you have made me think and look at your shot longer than any others, so well done

Ahh yes, finally, a good one. This is super. It definitely works for this challenge. I'm voting 10 on this but I have one nitpick and you probably already know what it is. That last board at the bottom right shouldn't be there. Just a slight crop to remove it would have garnered you an 11 from me. ;\ But upon looking at it again it may make the photo look tilted. hmmm

Oh, I love this one! Great idea! Great execution. The grungy old building really turns this from ordinary to extraordinary. My highest rated photo so far! Good luck!

Very nice shot with a slightly olden day feeling about it (for some reason the wmoan in the window makes me think of a 1920's debutante!!??)

Love the spots colour on the white canvas (they are vivid without being overpowering)

Possibly could have done with a touch of straightening so that the boards lay parallel, but that is just a minor issue
