hot damn, i got a too-too!

wow, this did much better than i thought it would. maybe team suck is having an influence after all. i do agree with cfarrell's comment about the facial expression. i hate it too - i should have softened it up a bit more. but i was running back and forth across the field like a mad thing with my 10 second timer, and this was the best of about 20 - i was absolutely knackered.

My only surprise is that you are surprised that it did better than you thought! The photo is incredible! Well. . .I have another surprise: that it's not on the front page with a score closer to 7 than 6!!

I actually like the facial expression because it enhances the emotional element of the scene. It shows that someone is probably freezing their ass off, hehe. Great mood. I love how the noise is like little black and white snowflakes floating around. Very cool.

Very cool photo. I think the grain is great, and I love the composition of the person and two trees standing in a row in ascending order with so much sky above. Love the three textures of the three silhouettes too. Going in my favorites!

Like the 3 figures, planted in the cold and snow, BW tones, and treatment, frosty cold. Altogether very evocative in an apparently simple but unusual way.

The use of grain in this image works really well. Good entry.

I really like the noise and composition. The processing is very appealing to me. The only thing that seems to distract me is her expression. I wonder if not showing her face at all would have been more effective. Of course, just my opinion.

This is only my second image I'm voting on, but I already know it will be one of my favorites in this challenge. I love the starkness, the crop & composition, the inclusion of the person in that exact spot, the grain, everything. It's wonderful.

I like the B&W here, the setup seems to lack something and the picture seems grainy as well

This is a really "striking shot"! It really makes it's mark in the "harsh environment" category. I even love the grain to this!

I like all the grain. Certainly indicates harshness, but tends to be avoided at DPC.

I'm not too fond of the grain, but this is a real standout for me. One of my favorites of the challenge.

Came back to bump, this is indeed my favorite. I hope to see this on the front page.

Nice image, I like the grain, it adds to the emotion of it. Would have been even more interesting if the person were walking or doing something, composition is good and nice b&w, 7.
