Took alot of shots and really preferred a completly different composition but the sky and lighting were boring. Anyway I love these fences, they look awesome with the sun coming through, just have to catch them in the right light.... not That Easy!

Wow!!!! Thanks for all the votes and comments!!!! I'm sooo excited!
recieved an award last night for a "people and places in brooklyn" photography contest so this is a good week!

Interesting comparison between your first place entry and a very similar composition from Whiterook that scored in the mid-5's

Woo Hooo Charmayne!!!! This is so awesome! You chose the right one. The fence is just so interesting and artistic -- but the combination of the dramatic sky and light -- this one could NOT be beat! Congratulations on 1st prize!

I am glad to see this win, it's one of the simple photos that usually make big impacts, and the natural lighting here, poking through the clouds look excellent as the shades are contrasted throughout. Congrats!

I LOVE this photograph. The coloring is beautiful, and I like that the sand echoes the pattern of the fence. The different textures are so real I can almost touch them-the pufly clouds, the sand, the shadows, and the fence. I also love the contrast between the gold sand and sky, and the blue grey of the clouds. Well done!

I like the forlorn look of this. The definition is good, and the smomber lighting really adds. Good textues & tones.
