 My 3rd attempt to get a shot of patterns a soap bubble creates. 2nd time around I posted a shot for the Abstract Macro challenge, a shot which I really like, but fought hard to get proper focus and DOF.

The pattern was there so I got inspired to shoot a few hours before the challeng ended and submitted within 5min of closing time. I tweaked the setup for 40min before taking a single shot and was really excited with the results so I edited the first image I thought best and went to shoot some more. Suffice to say I see some of my latter attempts had better patterns but this one has amazing colors. I'll work on the outtakes I didn't get to editing before and post them soon. I'm sure if I had more time I would've looked through all the shots closer and found one with better patterns with good enough colors. They all have amazing colors though. As you'll see soon yourselves :)

This one was very slightly cropped. I'd say this is a 90-95% crop. There's still room for improvement here so it's something I want to try again. Also wish this was an advanced challenge, selective sharpening is what I wanted to do here.

Very abstract pattern. The black bars at the top and bottom seem to add geometric finality to the shot. Since it is so abstract, I would love to see this without the edges or border or whatever that is. Let my imagination fill in the infinite with this one.

Great color and clarity. I can see this printed on canvas. The border doesn't hurt but I much prefer it without it. (no vote)

Excellent color abstractish thingie. Fun to find things in, too. There are all sorts of critters, a few odd ghosts and aliens, a small fire... lots of fun.

Great colors with a cool graffiti sort of feel. The colors are balanced well with the blacks & grays up top - would have been too much without them. Back to bump you up to 8.

it pains me to view how good this photo is :-) I tried to do the same thing but failed miserably (didn't even enter the challenge it was so poor). Nice to see how my shot would have come out if I had a some talent. Adding to favs, this is a very strong shot. not sure if the DPC crowd will share my enthusiasm for this shot since the pattern is not perfectly repeated.

There is not so much of a pattern here as there is the absence of a pattern (randomness). Still, it's a cool looking shot
