 so I was reading this tutorial on how to make images look like sketches... except it didn't work out in the end because I used a different image than the tutorial and I had no clues to what size the image is supposed to be... so I just sort of came up with my own way.

That's quite beautiful. You can do a similar thing using layers of other scratchy images as well. Nice work. ;~)
