Heavy is the head that wears the crown. This guy seems ready. I can imagine a whole story about the man and his hat. It involves a series of defeats, leading to a hopelessness, but also an acceptance. Then some chump comes along with a crown instead of a dollar. He puts it on his head. How odd to feel like a king. He likes it, but is also afraid of the hope that might be returning with it. Can he be momentarily exalted without being tormented by hope?
