I was taking photos of something else but I looked round and about 10 feet from me this Robin sat. He sat there for a good 5 mins, did not even mind me using the flash on him. I love Robins.

Came across this and for those who are confused -

This is a European Robin (Erithacus rubecula) which is wholey unrelated to the American Robin (Turdus migratorius), but share a common name because of their similar coloration.

And he's cute as a button. Nice shot.

A 5 - You mean old sod!!

Very cute little shot - and you've got some lovely detail there. Very well captured indeed and I share your love of these amiable little birds.

Thanks very much for all your comments, much appreciated.
I put the border on because the background was a bit too bright and I thought it might tone it down a bit.

Love the light and detail on this bird--it looks so painterly. One of my top picks.

I think the border hurts this image. My eyes are pulled to that instead of the great capture of the bird.

What a great photo, shame it's ruined by a gratuitous and distracting border.

Fantastic! Great colors and sharpness. I really like how the bg is blurred and almost white. It really puts the focus on the bird. The small branch is a little distracting, but not too bad. I think it should stay because it really shows that he's on a branch and not just an unidentifiable 'straight line' across the photo.

I'm not overally crazy about the faded border...

Overall, super shot! Wish I could vote because I'd give you a 9!

Beautiful little capture! Border is dreadful (sorry!) as this picture needs no more help due to the perfection of your photo. Excellent.

Oh, these guys are so hard to get well and you did it. Patience, I guess. Maybe you tried a tighter crop and decided on this one... Anyhow, a very nice job and I"m glad you put it in the March study so we could all see it. I'm not too fond of that border, but titles and borders don't count in my scoring.

I really love this little bird - I have a penchant for the wildlife shots. I think your border detracts quite a bit from a really eye-popping image, but I'm not going to deduct marks or anything (unlike some people who vote in this challenge) because the overall image is just stunning. - 9

Fantastic shot - but I don't like the border at all, and I think it takes away from the composition. Borders don't usually detract, in my mind..
