At the moment of posting this I noticed the erase is too tidy, should've shaved it down some but still leave it flat or shaved it off completely. But it's too late now. Live and learn :)

Folks, thanks for the comments and faves (2 during voting) :)
I see the point about the eraser was made as I thought it would be. Thinking about it again, I remember back in class I rarely used the pencil's eraser anyway and went for the smooth great erasing of a white pentel eraser or a sanford magic rub, hehe.

Here's an outtake,

Taken even closer up

Neither shots where cropped.

I think the eraser is just fine like it is. I like it better than the cropped version. I think it is really GOOD!!!

superb and clever. Beautifully lit and well composed. The only improvement would be a tad more focus on the stuff in the background and maybe a higher crop for more smoke. 8

This is such a unique idea! I'd love to know how you got it to smoke. I really like the stack of papers blurred in the background...Very creative!

What's that blurry shape in the background? And why? The pencil speaks for itself, and is very well captured.

The wisp of smoke is a very cool touch. Shouldn't the eraser be worn down and chewed? HA! Nice shot, very well done.
