 I tried to get low for good effect, but not too low that the face of the little plant was missed. I used slow sink flash. Used aperture and zoom settings to get shallow DOF to bring out the subject and give it dimension.

It was amazing to see all these little bumps coming out of the ground and find that these little weeds can push the bitumen up so easily. So I wanted to capture this in a nice way.

Lots of noise reduction and sharpening. A little Sat.

Is it coming out of mud? I just feel like I might be missing something (lol wouldn't be the first time!) Good colors and great message, though.

Nice idea, but execution does not appeal to me. Wet muddy, slimey texture is not pleasing to my eye at all. Angle and DOF are also a little off.
